Have you ever looked forward to ripping off your bra at the end of a long day... only to come home to kids having friends over, your spouse or roommates having guests, or even your in-laws or neighbors hanging around?
Sometimes, understandably, you might not want to expose yourself braless in your PJ's to everyone... Even if you're SO READY to ditch that bra for the day.
It started with a dilemma...
I'm Katie, and I love sharing Jia+Kate with you!
To me, ripping off that bra at the end of the day equates to the feeling of coming home. ("Jia" translates to "home," by the way).
Jia+Kate was born when I became a step-mom and wanted to avoid "flashing the headlights" at tween boys during dinner.
Suddenly, I had a dilemma. I had to choose between wearing some type of bra 100% of the time at home (yuck), or wearing some bulky sweatshirt year-round in the Texas heat (also yuck).
So I designed loungewear
Eager to feel at home in my new home, I searched the retail market for comfy loungewear with “coverage” that didn’t feel like wearing a bra. To my dismay, the “braless” options on the market still had uncomfortable elastic shelf bands.
I’m sorry, but I’m just not willing to wear an elastic built-in-bra cami after my work day! *Sigh*
I realized I would have to sew a braless loungewear top for myself.
